A free collection of anime and manhwa guessing games, built by one developer as a passion project.

What is AniCodle?

AniCodle is a free browser-based collection of games built around anime and manhwa. Every game is different — some ask you to guess a title from a cropped cover image, some play a short audio clip and dare you to name the opening, others hide a review and make you identify the show from pure description. All of them are free, require no account, and run entirely in your browser.

The site launched as a personal portfolio project and has grown to include over a dozen distinct game modes. Data is sourced from MyAnimeList via the Jikan API, supplemented by manually curated datasets for specific games.

The Games

Each game tests a different kind of anime or manhwa knowledge — from visual recognition to audio memory to genre intuition.

A real MAL review with the title censored. What show is it?

The Developer

AniCodle is built and maintained by a single developer. The site is a passion project — every game mode, dataset, and design decision is made by one person in their spare time. If you enjoy the games, the best way to support the project is to share it with friends.

If you want to go further, buying a coffee or an ad-free key directly funds server costs and keeps new games coming.

Data & Attribution

Anime metadata (titles, covers, ratings, genres, synopses) is sourced from MyAnimeList via the Jikan REST API. Manhwa data is similarly sourced from public catalogues. AniCodle is a fan-made project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by MyAnimeList or any anime studio or publisher.

All games are free to play. The site is supported by optional Google AdSense advertising and voluntary Ko-fi contributions. See the Privacy Policy for details on how cookies and data are handled.
